The Simple Medical Imaging Library Interface (SMILI, pronounced 'smilie') is a light-weight, cross platform and open source library with a handful of classes to make building medical image processing and scientific visualisation applications/pipelines easy. It also has a simple and easy to use user interface application called sMILX and the below screen shots show some of the things you can accomplish with just a few clicks.
